The industry's only adjustable L-shaped screw-mounting bracket.
A simple design finely tuned to mount a variety of pedal enclosures that have side screws.
Type-L brackets screw mount directly to the pedal and pedalboard—no Velcro required. The open slot at the base allows removal from the pedalboard without completely removing all screws.
The pedal mounting slot accommodates enclosures with a wide range of side-screw heights. For easy setup, we've assembled hardware packs specific to different enclosure types.
Made from 14-gauge steel and powder-coated, Helweg brackets are built for heavy touring. US-made nylon washers create a snug fit without marring the pedal or bracket finish.

- ▼What can I mount with Type-L brackets?
Use two brackets in opposite corners to mount standard-size units (about the size and weight of a basic Boss pedal). Each package includes two brackets and the hardware for one such pedal. We recommend using two pairs for heavier units.
Some enclosures have both bottom screws and side screws (for example, the new Boss DD 500 Delay). Combine the Type-L brackets with other bracket models to mount these non-typical units.
The Type-L bracket is also required to mount some extra-large switchers and control units, some exceeding 8–10 pounds. Safe mounting may require four, six, or more brackets. We recommend using all the available enclosure screws for these weighty units.
- ◄What tools are required?
For best results, drill mounting holes in the pedalboard deck using an electric hand drill with a 3/32” drill bit. Drive in and remove the wood screws once before adding the brackets. After that, brackets can be quickly mounted and removed with a drill gun or Phillips screwdriver.
Most enclosures use basic Phillips-head screws. However, mounting some pedals requires alternate-sized Phillips bits, flat head bits, or even specialty bits (TC Electronics).
Always install enclosure screws by hand to avoid damaging the pedal. A drill gun should only be used for mounting wood screws in the pedalboard deck.
- ◄Will I need additional parts?
Most pedals require longer-than-stock side screws to accommodate the added thickness of the Type-L bracket and nylon spacers. We are currently working to assemble hardware packs for various models. If you need different hardware, contact us for assistance.
It's often possible to find a suitable screw or spacer at your local hardware store. When sourcing new enclosure screws, line up the threads with an original screw to ensure they match.
- ◄Can I mount pedals to a metal board surface?
This slightly more technical endeavor can be achieved using machine screws backed with a washer and nut. Results will be best with a drill press, quality metal drill bits, and some experience.
